Patch Work :: NYC Bent2006 Festival - April 2006

This installation was created using 3 of my modified TI99 computers in an interactive setup. Two of the TI99 computers are the version 4 modification I call the pixel maelstrom and the third was the version 3 modification. I configured the light sensors from the version 4 TI99 computers in a way that viewers could manipulate the sound and images displayed on the television sets. I hung a microphone from the ceiling to pick up ambient sounds and to serve as a mic for people to speak into. This microphone was distributed to all the computers and any sound loud enough would cause all the images on television set to change. The goal was more a means of allowing others to play with the devices in a way that yielded immediate results even with a very limited set of affordances.
