Continuation of natural gardening experiments in 2009

Moving to Brooklyn eliminated the possibility of having a nice open yard space like the one in Val Verde. If there is hope for the city, it is in agriculture on an individual scale. Supplementing fruit and vegetable production with grocery or market produce is unavoidable; however, growing your own food makes all the difference in the world. Even when container gardening, you are close to the life in the soil, closer to the earth. You begin to understand more about life and realize the myriad ways the city is doomed if we don't all return at once to the business of growing our own food as part of a larger concerted effort to find meaning again.

I started finding ways of reusing just about anything that was plastic, to convert them into mini planters. These photographs document the success of these projects.
